Information we collect

1. Account details. Your name, email address, WhatsApp/phone number, and a securely hashed password (or, if you use Google Sign-In, the basic profile Google shares with us).
2. Profile information. Your date of birth/age, gender, school, department, level, height, state of origin, what you're looking for, religion, bio, interests, and the photos you upload.
3. Content & activity. Messages you send, connections (Pavs), likes, requests, blocks, reports, WhatsApp reveals, and your in-app settings.
4. Payment information. When you buy Pav Packs, Reveal Credits, or Pavilla Plus, payments are processed by Paystack. We receive a transaction reference and status — we never see or store your card details.
5. Technical & usage data. Device and browser type, approximate activity times, pages opened, and anonymous sign-up funnel/app-open analytics (kept under a random device identifier, not your name) so we can improve the app.
6. Cookies & local storage. A session cookie keeps you signed in, and local storage holds preferences (such as your theme and the random analytics id). We don't use third-party advertising trackers.

How we use your information

1. Run the service. To create your account, build your profile, power discovery and matching, and deliver messages and connections.
2. Keep Pavilla safe. To verify accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our rules, and review reports.
3. Communicate with you. To send verification codes, account notices, and notifications you've enabled (email and push).
4. Improve the app. To understand how features are used and where people get stuck, using aggregated, mostly anonymous analytics.
5. Vision (AI assistant). When you chat with Vision, your messages are processed to generate helpful replies; we don't use them to identify you to others.

When we share information

1. With other users. Your profile (name, age, photos, and the details above) is shown for discovery and on profile cards, based on your privacy settings. People you block can't see you.
2. Service providers. We use trusted providers strictly to run Pavilla — Paystack (payments), Google (sign-in), Brevo (email delivery), web-push services (notifications), and an AI provider (Vision replies). They may process data only on our behalf.
3. Legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and Pavilla.
4. We never sell your data. Pavilla does not sell your personal information to anyone.

Your rights & choices

1. Access & edit. You can view and update your profile details at any time in the app.
2. Export. You can request a copy of your data from the app or through support.
3. Delete. You can delete your account, which removes your profile and associated data from active use.
4. Notifications. You can turn email updates and push notifications on or off in Settings or your browser/device.
5. Withdraw consent. You can withdraw consent or object to certain processing by contacting us — note some data is needed to keep your account working.

Retention & security

1. How long we keep data. We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Deleted accounts are removed from active use.
2. How we protect it. Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and access to data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
3. Where it's stored. Your data is stored on our servers and with the service providers listed above, which may process it outside Nigeria.

Age requirement

1. 16+ only. Pavilla is for people aged 16 and above. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16, and we remove such accounts when found.

Changes & contact

1. Updates. We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Pavilla means you accept the current version.
